Saturday me and Adam (mostly Adam) took off the brass insert piece and took down the shelves on each side of the fireplace! Yay! We are going to cut the black wire down and put the metal log thingy back. We've never used the fireplace and we've been in the house for 6 years! Maybe once we get it all cleaned up and painted we could get it inspected for future fires! I grew up in a log cabin so their was always a fire in the winter and I loved it!
We're slowly making progress!
