Avery Lately

Lately Avery has been one wild, emotional two year old.

He throws fits at a drop of a hat and is happy all in the same minute. To say he takes that after his mom is an understatement!

He loves boots! Even if they're a couple sizes too big!

He still loves trucks and cars and sometimes plays with trains. He loves riding toys. He still has his paci and the night night will probably follow him to college at this point!

He has become a huge picky eater, which makes it so hard on me but seems to be a very healthy "thick" guy which reminds me of his sister at this age. Sketti still remains one of his favorites!

He loves people and rarely ever meets a stranger (which is just like his pawpaw B. who "knows" everyone).

He has learn to yell (thanks to his big brother) and often voices himself this way. Hey, we're working on it. :)

He adores Laynee.

He hates for Connor to tell him what to do or how to do something, his most used line is "no, Connor" which means I don't want to hear whatever you have to say. I'm still hoping they will bond in years to come!

He now sleeps in a "big boy bed" and loves it! From the first night he hasn't wanted back in his crib. YAY! He loves the freedom of being to get in and out of bed without help.

His most used "new" word is GUYS-"come on guys", "let's go guys", wanna play guys". Everyone is "guys". Coming from a 2 year old IS THE CUTEST THING.

He loves hugs and loves giving hugs. I tell him everytime, you are full of Riddle blood cause the Riddle side loves some  hugs! ;)

He scared of characters (halloween wasnt so bad but we only went to the local Trunk or Treat with him).
He's one funny lil' dude and I'm so glad he's ours!

Day One

Our oldest two started school again on monday. They met their teachers on thursday and could not wait to count down the days, hours and minutes til when they could start! This was a complete shock to me with Connor actually wanting to go to school. Him and school are never on the same page. It's not his favorite thing to do ya know? Laynee on the other hand loves it! She always has. If she is out of school you know there better be a good reason. I hope she continues to love it. So far she is in the same room with Cole and some of her other friends so of course that meant she had the best day! I took the pictures of the three of them yesterday as well as these outside of just the two of them. I wish I would have taken a picture of them together outside. Apparently not only is six GREAT but being in first grade is too! I love this age with Connor. He gets excited about everything, laughs alot and is just S-I-L-L-Y!    At the beginning of first grade (age 6) he...   is Silly. loves to laugh. loves brownies. ask lots of questions. love to aggravate Avery. doesn't forget anything. love his ipod. says forremember instead of remember (just like Laynee at this age). hates to brush his teeth. loves to stay up late and watch TV. hate chores. doesn't mind a mess. is a rule breaker! is very photogenic. loves his soft shorts. hates wearing socks.        

So lets talk about how tall Laynee is! Her daddy calls her "legs". It has been her nickname for a couple of years but this year I can really tell why! Holy moly girl quit growing!

At the beginning of fourth grade (age 9) she...

finally take up for herself with her little brothers.

 has begged for her own room for a couple of weeks now.

has turned the closet into "her space". 

likes things neat and tidy.

dislikes wearing dresses.

hates tight clothes (skinny jeans included).

is a rule follower.

love her daddy.

is Avery's favorite sibling.

doesn't mind chores.

prefers taking a shower over a bath.

loves watching movies.

loves animals.

gets her feelings hurt easily.

worries alot for a nine year old.

loves watching discovery channel or anythign about animals.

Packed full

This weekend was packed full. I took off friday from work and me, Pawpaw Gowers and the kids loaded up and went to The Birmgingham Zoo! It was the perfect overcast, not to hot, cool breeze day! We got there right when they opened and managed to stay until 12ish. Which was perfect timing to grab lunch on the way home and get Avery down for a late nap. (sorry I'm big on naps!) 
The oldest two loved and was excited about seeing everything. Avery was a little scared of a few of the animals, sit very still and quiet on the train ride and was "done" with the carousel. We had a goat try to get it the diaper bag (which was in the bottom of the stroller) so I screamed, scared Avery and he proceeded to try and climb out of the stroller while yelling no, no, no! On into the barn, Connor proceeded to tell Avery that the turkey was going to get him and tickled Avery's neck with his hand and Avery flipped out as soon as the turkey turned around and looked at us! Fun times at the zoo farm! 

Saturday morning I meet some other friends (mostly family-ha!) for a yard sale. I met my goal amount + some and only had 1.5 totes of clothes to take back home. 
Saturday early afternoon we went to Brody's 6th birthday party at Airwalk. The kids loved it! I managed to get one or two pictures-here's one of the birthday boy! 

 

Saturday afternoon we headed to the local winery for Music and Fireworks! We celebrated Morgan turning 2 also!

 Right before the wine tasting! Fun times! The band was my favorite so far, the fire works was awesome and it only rained just enough to get us wet and mess up a good hair day! Thank goodness the temp was just right! I could use a weekend after the packed full weekend we had!

Our Weekend

This Saturday night we surprised the kids with a trip to our local drive in to see Planes. We borrowed Adam's dads truck and headed out for a late night movie. All of our kids loved Cars so I knew the feeling would be the same for Planes.  This was Avery's first trip to a drive in or movie and he loved it. He loves being outside and also happens to be a people person so it was perfect for him. Laynee was perfect, Connor got ansie toward the end and Avery wanted to talk to every one during the movie or run to the edge of the tail gate and scare us like crazy! All in all it was a successful trip to the drive in. It was the perfect night to go!

Sunday after church and naps we loaded up and went to Shelley's pool. The kids love swimming!

This was by far their favorite thing to do-Jump from daddy's shoulders...this is Avery getting onto of his shoulders and his face says it all-he loved it!

 

You can tell Daddy is the water parent, I prefer floating.

What a difference...
