At 6 months, you weigh 17lbs 8 ounces (75th %) and 27 3/4" Long (98th %). This def. tells us your going to be tall just like your daddy! You dropped in your percentage on your weight but you still have lots of rolls! Your eyes are no longer blue. Right now they are "hazel" and your hair is a light brown. You have wild hair (just like daddy) and it "fits" your personality to a T!

You are still waking up twice a night. (12ish and 4ish) If we're lucky you wait and only wake up around 4:30. You usually take a morning and afternoon nap, not long but long enough for us to get a few things done around the house.

* You love your older sister and brother but if I had to choose your favorite it would def. be Laynee. That girl can make you smile just by looking at you.

* You have the cutest giggle ever!

* You love to eat baby food but your favorites would have to be apples, applesauce and pears! You love love love them!

* You usually eat 1 jar and 1 bottle at both lunch and dinner. You are not much on eating cereal (only in your bottles) so we have now added another fruit for breakfast per the docs request. I almost thought we we're feeding you too much but apparently we weren't feeding you enough! :)

* You can roll over but often choose not too. Somehow you manage to get around without doing it!

* You hate belly time but the doc sees no reason why that will keep you from crawling.

* You still don't care for swinging but any big motion and you spit up so you could have some form of motion sickness.

* You love your exersaucer and your jumperoo!

* You love, love, love the TV! You might just love it more than your big sister does and that's alot!

* Your still a perfect mixture of a momma's and daddy's boy and that couldn't have worked better for us since we already have a daddy's girl and momma's boy!

We celebrated your 6 month birthday with miniture cupcakes! Pawpaw Gowers ended up coming over for a visit to check up on you since you had four shots and got to join in on all the fun! You had no idea nor did you care but your big brother couldn't have been more excited about eating cupcakes! He blew out your candle for you and you stared wondering what all the fuss was about! Laynee couldn't believe you had been in our lives for 1/2 year already!

* I haven't taken any pictures in days. This is sad to me but I haven't been in "picture taking moods".
* Connor had the stomach bug and swore he would never eat another sweet again. (I tell him too many sweets will make you sick...) He was pitiful. I laughed to keep from crying. You do that when your carpet is being soaked by puke you know!
* Laynee has said she hopes she doesn't get it....several times....alot....more than enough. Bless her heart me too.
* Avery will be SIX months this month. That is sad to me. Where oh where does time go?
* Laynee will be EIGHT in March, I find myself wondering where the time went...ya know when she actually wanted to sit in my lap...she's so grown-y!
* I'm still sad about Tripp. NO mother should have to go through what Courtney has the last two + years.
* I need to drink more water.
* I'm loving the new "Blush" wine from Morgan Creek. It's delish.
* My house is a mess. Couch full of clothes and more to wash.
* I'm in need of some new blogs to read...anyone got one that they HAVE to read daily?
* Speaking of blogs anyone know what happened to Darby? She hasn't blogged since Christmas...
* Laynee wrote a love song, drew a heart on it and I can't dare bring myself to read it for fear of what it might say.
* I miss my Granny. I miss visits with her. I miss "stealing" cornbread from her supper table.
* Our garage is a mess, its been too cold to work on the latest project, a dresser.
* I'm in love with this recipe. I make it every chance I get.
* Me and Adam watched The Help this weekend. Loved it.
* Fake people nerve me. Really nerve me.
* Avery is attempting to sit up, few seconds here and there and he couldn't be more proud of himself.
* Avery also loves to "rock the baby".
* Santas choice of this item for Connor for Christmas should have been Laynee's....Connor won't sleep under it.
* I love pinterest, time (or work) won't allow me to get on much anymore.

That's it for now. Hopefully I'll have a weekend full of pictures to show next week!

I can't believe my very first nephew is TEN! Time, where oh where did you go?

Bath Time Fun!

Avery has a thing about hearing the bath water running. He loves bathtime! And don't you dare tell him he's next without meaning it! That boy knows! I made the mistake of trying to put Connor in front of him for bathtime and he wasn't having it. I mentioned the bumbo seat and Laynee ran in the kitchen and grabbed it. The look on his face says it all. He loved being able to sit up in the water. A must on our list is to get a bath tub seat for Avery. He loves the water and loves to splash!

After bathtime with Connor, he stayed put and we ran Laynee's bath. (no pictures-she's alittle to old for bath pictures now.) But he was thrilled to have gotten an "extended stay" in the tub!

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve is always a busy day for us. We have my side 1st at lunch and Adam's side for dinner.

For Christmas at Nannie Cains we had Nannie, Levi, Cole, Pawpaw Gowers and Aunt Judy.

Avery and Nannie had good conversation while waiting on everyone to arrive...

We had enough food to last for days and it was so good!

After Nannie's we went home for a quick drop off of our presents and to prepare the snacks for Grandma's.

At Grandmas they had a floating ~~flying~~ Nemo...

and our two oldest were amazed by it!

I finally managed to get a picture of uncle Alex and Avery! He loves Alex so much!

Avery was more excited about the wrapping paper than the gifts inside!

We managed to leave at a decent hour and get the kids in bed just in time for Santa to arrive!

Christmas Eve Eve

This year we started celebrating Christmas on the friday before with my Aunt, Cousin Wendy (and husband Michael), Levi, Cole and Clay. We had "Dawg's Famous Stew" and to many desserts to choose from. The kids couldn't wait to open presents! Avery was just excited that there were even more kids to watch.

While waiting on everyone to arrive we had a visit from Santa on the local fire truck! I told the kids he was making sure of where they lived since they we're on the nice list! They couldn't have been more excited!

(Santa sure did have dirty gloves!)

Avery always has this "shocked" look on his face everytime I use the flash (our living room has terrible lighting).

I tried to finally get a picture of all 5 of the cousins but everytime atleast one of them wasn't looking. I love Avery in this picture. He thought Uncle Clay was a pretty funny guy!

After all the gift opening Laynee and Bec enjoyed a fun game that Laynee got from her.

I love Christmas time. We had a great meal, good desserts and even more fun playing the Wii that we got from Bec for a family gift.

What was even better is that it was a laid back evening!

Classroom parties!

(Trying to play catch up is hard work-bare with me!)

This year I was able to slip away to attend the kids classroom parties. I try to attend every year but sometimes it just doesn't happen. This year Laynee's classroom parent and teacher requested that we each send in $10.00 for the class party and gifts. Laynee ended up with this adorable Belk's bear from Mrs. Darby, 3 books and some marks and colored pencils. She was so excited to open her presents and was even more excited when she got this bear (she LOVES stuffed animals). I did as a child, now not so much...we just don't have space for them. Anyways, Laynee's class had capri suns, pizza and cookies for their party. It was such a great idea!

Since Laynee's party started at 1 and Connor's at 1:30 I was able to make both!

Connor's class had lots of good snacks and he had made the most adorable gifts for us to decorate the tree with etc. He was so excited to get them home and let me and Adam open them.

Although my plan was to return back to work, Connor had other plans...such as checking him out, returning to work and then leaving shortly after. Little Stinker!

A Gift from Amos

The week before Christmas the kiddos woke up to gifts from Amos waiting for the on them kitchen table! Laynee's first response was "how does he know I love ANIMALS!" Connor was just too tickled to say anything except "Laynee this is my book, not yours."

Amos ended up hanging out in Laynee's dress nearby so he could see them open their presents....

Since I failed to take the clear wrapper off the books, I told them that Amos even attempted to "wrap" their gifts in clear wrapping paper! They thought that was pretty sweet of Amos to do!

What's even sweeter about these little books is that I got them off LTD for half the price that Wal-mart has them for. Check it out here. Santa happened to be bringing the other two! SHH don't tell!

Avery at 5 Months Old

How is it that you are already 5 months Old?

* At 5 months you are trying really hard to sit up.

* You love to chew on your hands.

* You smile everytime you see your Big Sister, Laynee.

* You love your blankey and your new minky elephant Santa brought you.

* You love to fall asleep in momma and daddy's bed at night with momma. (and then daddy puts you in your bed.)

*Your Big Brother is finally starting to come around and tries to make you laugh out loud often.

* You love pears, apples, peaches and dislikes green beans in a bad way.

* Your still a momma and daddy's boy-You love us both about the same.

* You still don't care for your swing but will sit in it for about 10mins.

* So far you will go to anyone and can carry on a conversation with anyone too!

* You love bathtime!

* You love supper time cause you get to sit in (in your bumbo chair) the middle of the table and look around and eat your baby food! (crazy I know but it works and keeps him entertained all at the same time!)

* You love to watch Sally Mae from the glass doors and want to "get her" bad! (poor kitty)

* You love to squeal and then smile really BIG!

* You are a snuggle bug and I love it!

* You love to "talk" over the TV (or anyone that might be talking).

Boy oh boy how much fun you are! I can't imagine our life with out you! Your momma's Snuggle Bug and WE love you so!

New Years Resolution(s)

This year I have a list of New Year Resolution(s). Most of which no one else would care to admitt might be one of theirs too!

Here it goes!

* Stay off the computer more and instead playing with my kids more!
* Eat less but enjoy the food more! I find that eating one plate and removing myself from the table works best for me!
* Take more pictures! Practice makes perfect after all!
* Spend more along time with ADAM! (any sitters out there?)
* Get healthy. Me and Adam have both agreed that this is something we should be doing already.
* Try more new recipes. Hello Pinterest I think I love you!
* Save money-spend less. We recently purchase a deep freeze and I plan on stocking it full!
* Spend more time with love ones!

There that wasn't so bad was it?

A Year Review

In January, we had our first winter storm and got to play in snow!

In Feb, we decided on using a family name for our 3rd baby (boy or girl)...Avery!

In March, Laynee turned 7...

and announced that would we're having another boy!

In March Connor played T-ball for the first time too!

In April, we got dressed up for Easter and made a visit to Arkwright Baptist Church...

and then onto Grandma's.

In May we celebrated Mothers Day ...

Connor graduated from K-3

and Wendy got Married!!!

In June we had a baby shower for Sweet Avery!

In July, we welcomed Mason Avery into our world!

In August, Connor turned FOUR!

In Sept., our cousin Cole turned 8 and celebrated with a AU party!

In October, we made our first trip to Tannelhill State Park and trick or treated!

and Avery had his first Halloween as a Corn on the Cob!

November was busy for us...we celebrated Hopie's Birthday...

Amos came from the North Pole to visit...

Avery had his first Thanksgiving...

and mommy turned 31!

In December, Daddy turned 32...

and Avery had his first Christmas!

It was a great year for us. A year full of fun times, life long changes and many wonderful memories!

Amos and a Letter from Santa

Amos-Daddy came up with the name after he went weeks with out one. We forgot his name from last year and seeing that no one could think of it daddy came up with "Amos" the kids like it so he's stuck with it. Maybe we'll remember it come next year or maybe we'll have to think of a new name...the kids didn't seem to care either way just as long as he shows up.

And so what has Amos been up he has...

* Meeting the Turkey on Thanksgiving night.

* In the window seal.

* So far its been in the living room in several places.

* In the bathroom using mommy's tooth brush to smear toothpaste all over the sink (one of my pet peeves). Laynee declared that he needed to be spanked for doing it. Ha!

* In the kitchen hanging from a key on the wall.

* Hanging from the chanderlier in the kitchen.

* Playing with Connors trains and race cards along with papa smurf.

* Hooking up with the tooth fairy leaving sweet notes on how beautiful Laynee is without her TWO front teeth.

* Sitting in a vase full of fake snow and little people.

* Swinging in Avery's swing.

* Eating ~~Daddy's~~ Connor's candy.

* Sitting on the Fridge.

* Eating Chips.

Not only have we been entertained with our elf this year but Santa mailed the oldest two sweet letters straight from the north pole. Laynee immediately blushed and Connor squealed with excitement and could not wait to see what it said.

was by far Connor's favorite song in his Christmas program on tuesday night. He did so good and looked and smiled as though everyone was there to watch him.

Our weekend

This little guy is sick. Coughing, sneezing and stuffy nose.

He spent his weekend in different sleeping positions...anywhere that he would sleep we let him.

Note: Daddy's recliner is not a favorite spot of his, it only lasted a few minutes. :(

Connor has finally announced our house is Christmas-y enough. YAY!

Our stockings are hung. Two need to be monagrammed...maybe that will happen next year...

Friday night we went to Bass Pro Shop for our FREE santa picture and ended up purchasing one of the smaller packages. Laynee could pass as a nutcracker as stiff as she looks, Connor is a little scared but still smiling and Avery is wondering why the hell his daddy sat him in this strange mans lap.

Fun times, Santa was not a jolly ole' fellow but nice enough to tell Laynee he knew she had been a good girl and to tell Connor that he was watching him. ;)

We spend the majority of our weekend at home. We managed to miss two birthday parties and alot of other things I had on our never ending to do list. I'm ok with this. Life happens and we're not going to make every party or check off everything our my to do list. Life goes on, sometimes not how we want it to happen but it still goes on.

Here's to Avery getting well cause sleepness nights are for the birds!

* Laynee's "big teeth" come in before the baby teeth come out. So far its happened FOUR times!

* Connor is a whiner. It's worse when he's sick.

* Connor gets bored easily AND I am running out of things for him to do while I do the norm, you know house work, cooking, cleaning etc. (if there is a norm in my life at this point).

*Adam turns 32 tomorrow and I'm still wondering where our twenty's went?

* Avery is the most fun baby! I find myself constantly saying look at him!

* Connor can give some mean looks, he gets that from me.

* Avery prefers for his baby food to be "nooked" in the microwave (for another post but we just started this week).

* Our life is busy.

* Laundry grows on our couch.

* We have something to do every weekend in December. I have negative feels about this. I need relaxing time.

* We have a Pick me up supper atleast once a week, the name has nothing to do with what we actually do which is pick out what we want to eat...anything from cereal to noodles.

* I'm almost finished with christmas shopping.

* Connor doesn't have not one Christmas item to wear. I must find him something.

* Connor currently has pink sheets on his bed. He doesn't mind and at this point neither do I.

* Laynee let Nurse Autumn pull her tooth.

* I'm sure once I have time to think about turning 31 I won't like it but so far I haven't had time to think about it. ha!

* Avery usually sleeps through the night, nights that he don't is hard.

* Laynee hates getting her hair washed, thank God we only have to wash it every other night.

* Avery is the average height of a 6 month old. To say he's gonna be tall is a understatement.

* I miss pinning but time doesn't allow for it and neither does work.

* Avery is a snuggle bug.

* Connor is still a momma's boy. I like it that way.

* Avery is both a daddy's boy and momma's boy-yes it's possible.

* I'm suppose to be on a diet....maybe after the holidays.

* I can't believe Avery is already 4 months old.

* Laynee is still a daddy's girl, probably always will be.

* I love my family of five.

Thankful for time with Family

This year Thanksgiving fell on my 31st birthday. We celebrated by doing the normal Thanksgiving Day activities which include a trip to Aunt Judy's and then off to Grandma's. We left that morning around 11 and didn't return til around 9ish. It was a long day. We ate way to much, played even harder and only woke up Friday morning to do it all again with my side of the family plus some of Adam's! We decided to do it at our house and invite both our dads, Adam's brother Alex, both my nephews, my aunt Bec and Wendy and her husband, Michael. We had a house full with plenty of food! Friday afternoon we managed to get our decorations up. This year I decided to use one of my great grandmothers (mawmaw's) old quilts as the tree skirt. I love how it looks and reminds me of her everytime I look at it. It's as though she's there with us.

I only managed to snap a few pictures Thursday morning and one or two from Friday. Being a mother of three and a hostess was busy work! :)

Saturday we loaded up and went to Tannehill to spend the day with friends (The Sorgee's, The Fields and The Wallis's) and later trick or treat! We spent most of the day by a camp fire and the rest of the afternoon/night trick or treating and looking at all the decorations, scary and not so scary costumes! It was alot of fun and the kiddos haven't stopped talking about it!

Today since the weather was great I took Avery out to take some pics of him in his "I Love Rock" leggings. I love them on him and he hasn't got to wear them since his little feet stay so cold. Although I didn't get a smile out of him I did get some good pictures of his little legs! His new favorite thing to do is chew on his hands, I swear he's teething! :(

A Carnival Birthday: Bronnor turns 2!

Sunday we went to Bronnor's 2nd Birthday! The theme was Carnival. The kids we're so excited and Connor said on more than one occasion "I've never been to a Carnival Birthday Party!" We we arrived they had the Merry Go Round set up and a Thomas train to ride. Connor loved both! Laynee was a little to big for either but still enjoyed her turn on the Merry Go Round. Along with the rides, there was also face painting, games, picture "booths" and Cotton Candy and Popcorn!

When I saw these two together I had to run and get my camera for a few quick photos. Avery loves his daddy so much already!

The pictures aren't great cause lighting in our bathrooms pretty much sucks but I couldn't help sharing the sweetness!

A little update.

Life has been crazy busy for me. I'm in my 3rd week back at work and just when I think we have a new routine something happens to it! Avery is trying his best to sleep through the night. He started Sept. 28th, one day after he turned 9 weeks old. He is attempting to sleep from 8:30-9 til 4:30-5 am the next morning! I'm ok with the 5ish feeding cause at this point I really should be getting up getting myself ready for work also. I'm hoping this is something that takes on a every night/day routine but right now it changes from night to night. This THIRTY year old momma is T-I-R-E-D! I crashed Sunday morning and couldn't seem to stay awake. Thankful Adam let me sleep!

Laynee is taking second grade harder than I expected. She tells us daily that its hard being a second grader; and from the homework WE have I tend to agree with her. She's has mastered being a big sister to TWO little brothers and plays the role well. She helps alot and can make Avery smile by just glancing his way! She plays well with Connor and has only "lost it" a couple of times when it comes to how messy he can make THEIR room. Laynee really hasn't showed much jealously when it comes to Avery. I try to make a point to "do" her hair or paint her nails and she seems to take it well. She is a bit older than Connor and takes things alittle better.

Connor has took on ignoring Avery. He tends to not look at him or interact with him at all. I'm ok with this as long as it passes. He did laugh at him the other morning cause he wouldn't take his bottle and I joke-ly said Take it-take it, Avery smiled big and Connor laughed out loud. I made the comment that it wasn't funny and Connor said yes it is! I think he will eventually come around. I'm sure its because Avery takes so much of everyone's time and Connor doesn't quite understand that. Afterall he's been the "baby" for so long. He still manages to make into our bed atleast once or twice a week to go night night with momma and I'm ok with that. (Adam puts him in his bed when he comes to bed.) It's "our time" and it makes up for all the time that I'm "dealing" with Avery.

All in all our new life as a family of FIVE is taking off pretty well!! Happy Fall Ya'll!

The Fair among other things

This saturday we visited the fair in Columbiana. Connor called it the circus the whole time and wondered where all the clowns with funny noses were? Laynee loved it and only managed to have one ~~MAJOR~~ meltdown cause Cole got to ride the ~~TINY~~ Connor size four wheelers cause apparently he was shorter than her and she was to tall. I missed the front end of it since me and Levi had went to ride the "roller coaster".

Connor and Laynee rode every ride they were allowed to ride with out hesitation. Levi not so much (he must get that from me). We skipped out on the huge boat ride and opted for the roller coaster one more time. Cole proceeded to tell me after he rode the huge boat that he knew why I didn't ride it. Connor and Laynee loved it (they must get this from Adam).

Just this morning Connor exclaimed that he LOVED going to the fair but was mad cause I didn't get him a candy apple...this coming from someone who ask for Cotton Candy and then didn't care for it. He NEVER not once ask for the candy apple. We all had a good time and at times I think I had more fun than they did! Happy Fall Ya'll!

Doctor appt. for Avery

Today we went to St. Vincent's for a ultrasound to check Avery's hips. He was breech at birth and based on what our peditrician said its normal procedure to get a hip ultrasound to make sure its hips are not out of socket etc. We got the results while waiting at the peditricians office. He has a mild case of Hip Dysplasia. We go to the orthopedic on October 11th to find out if he will have to wear a brace or something else. Its a very mild case only on his left leg and only occurs when his leg is in a stressed position. We will know more on the 11th but please be in prayer for our little guy and that everything will work itself out. I have mixed emotions about it and I'm trying to think postitive.

He also had his 2 month check up today and weighed in at 12lbs 4 oz and was 23.5 inches long! He's doing great. He still takes 4 ounces every three hours and will take up to 6 ounces a few times a day.

At two months:
He loves to smile, reminds me alot of Big brother Connor.
He has found his hand and loves to suck on the entire thing!
Follows you across the room with his eyes.
Knows voices.
Smiles alot at Big Sister Laynee.

Once a month

By this time last year Adam was bowling in a league once a week. I was stuck home with the kiddos and nothing in that price range to do for my "break" away from it all.

I've recently become a addict of pinterest. While making one of my "pins" I thought wouldn't it be fun to have someone to do this with. That's when it hit me, we should get together and do some of the crafts we've pinned and talk about some of the recipes etc that we've done on our on time. The cost would be the cost of the supplies to make that particular item and we could all bring snacks for everyone. Each month everyone could send in the item they want to make the most and then we could draw for that months item. We would then make a list of what materials you would need and everyone could bring their own. With Christmas right around the corner this could be a perfect way to get a few Christmas gifts knocked out. And if you have a friend that might be interested let her know too!

I found this GAP Easter Bunny Costume on Ebay and couldn't resist ordering it for Avery's first Halloween. It was a size 3-6 month and I knew it would be a perfect fit. We'll I put it on yesterday just to see how adorable he would be and it's almost too small. I seriously doubt he will still be able to wear it come halloween, we'll see. Check out the cutest though!

This saturday Cole celebrated his 8th birthday with a party at the Harpersville Park.

He had a Auburn Party!

Laynee woke up sick saturday morning throwing up so she didn't get to go. We left Avery and Laynee at home with daddy and me and Connor headed to the party. He stayed on the playground the entire party and even though there wasn't anyone really his age there to play with, he had a ball!

Five weeks old and a doctors visit

On Tuesday Avery was FIVE weeks old!

We had a check up visit and weighed in at 10lbs 5.5 ounces and was 21.5 inches long! Dr. W said this was probably going to be our biggest kid! So far he has been!

He constantly wants a bottle and has been taking 4 ounces every 3 hours and once or twice a day he will take 6 ounces!

This was his newborn coming home outfit (that was way to big) and it's almost to short/little! He is out of most of his newborn clothes and into 3 months +. I can't believe how much he has already changed in just 5 short weeks. Time is flying by! I'll be going back to work on the 20th of this month and can hardly believe how fast the time as gone by!

He was breech and we will have to go for a ultrasound at the end of this month to make sure his hips are not out of the sockets...Dr. W feels like they are fine but wants to make sure while he's still small. Please pray that everythings fine and that he won't have to wear leg braces for any period of time.

As most of you know I am ADDICTED to Pinterest! Some of my favorite bloggers are using it and I love looking at their pins and getting ideas! I know I have alot of boards and alot of things pinned but I have did several things and I've also received several gifts of some of my pins for Avery's room. (Thanks Tiff.) My must haves

Since every baby I've had "new" must haves. I thought I would list a couple of my go to items.

First a pic. of Baby Avery...

First item is the ITZ BEEN Timer. When I first saw it I thought wow why would someone need one of those? We'll the more I looked the more I saw why I needed one. It's been great. With two older kiddos running around, a house to keep going among other everyday life happenings its hard to keep up with how long itz been since we last feed Avery. As you all know sometimes new babies like to eat before its time and this way you'll know how longs itz been since he last ate. This is extremely helpful if you are trying to get them on a schedule. It also has a timer for diaper changes, left and right breast (for breast feeding moms), how long itz been since nap as well as a misc. one. We take it with us everywhere and I would def. recommend getting one of these for a shower gift. I bought my on ebay (of course) and got it for half the price but you can also find them at Babiesrus.com.

Next is the boppy pillow. This is a item that I've used with all three of my kiddos! I love it. We have started using at night with Avery since he has a little cold and he's been sleeping much better.

And last is a basket with handle packed with diapers/wipes/etc. I received this as a gift and was surprised at how much we carry it from room to room with us. Each night it goes to the bedroom with us and every morning I take it to the living room. Its the perfect size and my go to everytime Avery needs a diaper change. I'll def. keep this in mind next time for a shower gift!

Avery: 4 Weeks old

Sweet Avery,

Tuesday you turned four weeks old. Its hard to believe in a few short weeks I'll return to work and you'll be two months. Slow down time is something that constantly pops in my mind. You are growing so much and are already amazing me and your daddy at the things you can already do. I say all the time you'll skip crawling for sure by the way you act! You are def. no different than your older brother and sister and think that someone must be holding you and talking to you if you are awake. Can you say spoiled? Silence is not a option for you, there must be noise at all times, esp. if you are asleep. Big Brother is getting a kick out of all your toys and insisted that you wanted to play with your tummy mat so we got it out and he had a ball showing you what you were suppose to do.

Our world has forever been changed and we've already forgotten what is was like before having you! We love you lil' guy!

Pre K

We got the call on tuesday of last week and was starting our first day of Pre K by thursday. One more doctors visit and a quick phone call to Sue @ Sew Close to Home for a nap mat, book bag and lunch tote and we were set! He couldn't wait and announced that it was no longer Laynee's school, it was Laynee and Connor's school! I could have screamed, cried and jumped up and down but a c section, sore throat and crazy emotions I ended up doing none but was doing all those inside...ha!

I snapped this photo in the car before leaving that morning, we were late (see Tooth Fairy post) and there wasn't much time. I stayed through breakfast and walked him to his class for the first day! He's enjoying taking lunches, which right now is his favorite thing and I'm hoping the whole Pre K thing grows on him. I guess its something to do with Boys but he isn't a "I LOVE SCHOOL" kid. (He did this same thing in K 3 last year.) Laynee was and still is, it must be a girl thing.

Since the first day, Laynee has started walking him to his class. He reminds her not to hold his hand and only walk beside him. I don't think this will last much longer but Big Sister sure is enjoying it for now! Laynee was in Pre K and it helped prepare her for Kindegarden so much. We are so thankful Connor got in and can't wait to see how much he grows this year! I still can't believe he's FOUR and in PRE K! Time flies!

Tooth Fairy Job opening

We're looking for a tooth fairy at our house...yes that's right. We failed and were fired shortly after! Let me explain.

Last week Laynee pulled her second tooth (she's lost 4 but pulled 2 on her own). She debated on waiting til Pawpaw B could see it but at 9 pm decided she wanted the tooth fairy to come that night...I knew it, Adam knew it and somehow the tooth fairy never came. Laynee woke up the next morning in true Laynee form where she didn't want to wear what I had picked out for her so me being the ~~Great~~ tired momma that I am let her choose another out fit, which ran us late... It wasn't until time to walk out the door she ran to check if the tooth fairy had came...panic hit. OH NO I FORGOT...lucky for me the tooth was gone (still hasn't been located) and I had the perfect explanation. If the tooth fairy can't find a tooth they can't leave the $$$$....since then we have looked for the TINY tooth and have not located it. So far she's accepted the fact that no tooth, no $$$$. We're still looking for the tooth and we're now accepting applications for a NEW TOOTH FAIRY, the old one(s) have been FIRED!!!

Saturday we went to KK's 1st birthday party! We had a few obstacles get in our way on the way there but we made it just in time to see the birthday girl eat her cake!

The Smurfs

Last night we went to the Drive In to see the Smurfs. It was a promise I made when the first started announcing the smurfs on TV. The kiddos don't forgot, so yesterday when I saw that it was playing at the drive in we made plans to go. This was a first for Avery, he did pretty good and slept in the car seat most of the time. He did however start off in mommas lap...

A list of Firsts...

Monday was Avery had his first doctors visit with Dr. Walley.

all I managed to get was pictures before leaving the house...

My big boy ready for his four year old check up!

I have been keeping up with all his first in my head and decided it was way past time to list them for future memories!

His first outing as a family of five was to Mc Donald's. We were going to the Drive In afterwards but it looked like rain so we came home with Redbox movies instead.

His first trip to Wal-mart was terriable. It was time to eat so Adam had to push and pull a buggy and I walked and fed him. He spit over half the bottle up on him and I had to change him in the nasty bathrooms at Wal-mart....I could have cried but held it together pretty well.

I took him out on the back porch for the first time last week while Laynee and Connor played. He loved it, it was hot and the neighbors had some head banging music on so it didn't last long for me.

He got his first bath in the tub last week and I failed to get any pictures...I struggle with this alot and I'm determined to make it better...I don't want to fall in that category with the third baby!

We finally put up his mobile and it lasted about 15 minutes. I swear he thinks he has to be held if he's awake!

Saturday he attended his FIRST birthday party...Big Brothers. He was such a good baby the whole time and got passed around more times than I care to count!

Connor turned four on the 6th and ALL week he has been telling us not to call him Connor to call him the Birthday Boy...so that's exactly what we've been doing! He has been taking full advantage of being the birthday boy and has reminded us all week of just that. Saturday the birthday boy finally had his birthday party. He had counted down the days with Laynee all week and was beside himself all day saturday. I planned the party from 5-7 thinking it wouldn't be that hot and that maybe the kids could get some play time outside...we'll that lasted all of 10-15 minutes cause it rained. Our house now looks like a bomb of toys went off and I haven't had the energy to do much if any cleaning! All in all Connor said several times this was the best birthday party ever and he even hugged everyone's neck after each present he opened! He melted my heart each time, he really is a sweet boy when he wants to be! HA! I couldn't have been more happy with the way everything turned out! I bought this package off etsy @ Dimple Prints and printed out the pieces that we need and it all came together so great! I will def. be using them again! Check them out here!

Meet Avery

We welcomed this lil' boy into our world on July 26th @ 7:27 a.m. He came out wided eyed and ready to go! He weighed 7lbs 5 oz and was 20 inches long. To say we have our hands full is a understatement. We only thought Big Brother was trouble. Avery hasn't acted like a newborn since the day he was born and is always looking around wide eyed and is constantly moving. I'm pretty sure he'll skip crawling all together! Me and Adam are completely in love with him and so is Big Sister and Brother! We can't wait to share stories of a our new life as a family of FIVE! It's been crazy around here and that's why he's almost 3 weeks old and I'm just now blogging about him! Stick around I'll be back!

Change of Plans

This weekend we had a change of plans. Avery now has his own room and Laynee/Connor will be sharing a room. Laynee is so excited (not sure why) and Connor only wants to share a room with Avery. I had been thinking about the nights that Avery would be getting up and waking Laynee up and decided it might be best if he had a room by himself for now. Laynee and Connor's room will still be a shade of yellow since both there bedding has yellow in it. Avery's room is blue that be painted Connor's room. His bedding is the brown dots and so far it's growing on me! We have Avery's room all setup and in the next week or two will be putting down laminate flooring in there. I have some adjustments to make to his bumper pads but other than that we only like things for the room. I'm thinking we will still stick with Owl stuff so if you see anything cute let me know! I'll be on the search for anything owl but not over doing it. Right now Connor's stuff is still on the walls until we paint his and Laynee's room and put shelves in there. Here are the half way there pictures of everyone's room! Although there bedding doesn't match it is still doable for now. I'm pretty sure further down the road I will paint the chest of drawers and the toy box (which was mine when I was little).

Bed skirt is missing but we have a khaki one!

Hello Summertime!

It's BBQ season if you are from the south! So I decided it would be fun to share some of our favorites!

Kinda like-I'll share mine if you'll share yours! Here are two for today...

Corn on the cob cooked on the grill

Frozen corn, garlic salt, pepper, butter, chopped onions and bell peppers.

Wrap 6 in foil with all the above on top with one or two table spoons of butter.

Place on grill first, it takes awhile for the peppers to get done! :)

We usually use the onions and bell peppers to go on our hotdogs with mustard-trust me you won't be sorry you tried this!

Baked Beans

Bush's Baked Beans ORIGINAL, Two or three tablespoons (depending on size you are cooking) of brown sugar, original KRAFT bbq sauce, bell peppers and onions (cooked hamburger meat is optional: cook on stove top with olive oil with bell peppers and onions-drain and mix in with baked beans and then cook baked beans in oven). Cook in oven and your done-The best baked beans ever....I know I've been told several times!

* Our anniversary is in 9 days. As of Monday I couldn't remember how many years. Yes that's right, and he still loves me!

* Our house is full of salt. Yes that's right, table salt. For FLEAS, hey we are willing to try anything at the point!

* I'm 31 weeks all while measuring 33 weeks. I have a strong feeling Avery is going to come early. How early? I'm not sure!

* I have Connor's party planned in my head, items that have been previously used but nothing new bought or no gifts bought. This means for me I'm way behind!

* I am already waking up all hours of the night. I'm already exhausted and little one hasn't arrived yet.

* Our garage is finally clean (atleast somewhat).

* I'm addicted to Pinterest.

* Avery's bag is packed, mine...not so much.

* Our bedroom has a mixture of Avery, Laynee and our stuff. It could possibly be a case of hoarders.

* My husband makes me think of that ole' song-what a man. What a man, what a man, what a mighty good man. (ok not all of it but atleast the chorus) I don't tell him often enough.

* Warning to all the mothers of future 5, 6 and 7 year old girls. Time flies, they grow up fast and they learn how to roll eyes during these ages. Although a person pleaser, she has her moments. She no longer likes to wear bows and she is a tshirt and shorts kinda gal. (takes after her mom) :). Although she is a HUGE daddy's girl!

* In a few short weeks we will be the parents of THREE kiddos! That is all together scary and exciting stuff!

* I never dreamed of having THREE kiddos by 30!

* We need a bigger house, or to get rid of a few things!

* My husband is my best friend, if yours is not then you should consider changing some things. It works out best this way. ;)

* Adam says Avery is going to be a daddy's boy, we will see how this works out. Either way Laynee will always be a daddys girl.

* Connor has become more of a momma's boy in the last couple of months than every. I was thinking it couldn't get any worse but it does and can. :)

* I received in the crib skirt yesterday and its now laying inside the crib, yep I haven't gotten any further with it. I'm seriously slacking in energy these days.

* I cannot wait to see the rest of the pictures from Wendy's wedding. This one melts my heart.

This afternoon we cleaned up the garage (yes again) and had to have something to keep the kids entertained while we did. SO....I decided it would be fun to throw a few balls in the tub and put some water in it. It was the perfect size to keep Connor entertained and out of trouble for awhile and Laynee got to dip her feet in!

I know it's a bit country but it's the smallest things at our house that keeps our kids entertained!

31 week update and other ramblings

or should I say 33 week update? Today Dr. D said that I was measuring 33 weeks, I'm not suppose to be 31 weeks until sunday...Adam might be right when he said this was going to be our biggest baby yet (we might have a early delivery also). My Sugar was fine, blood pressure was great and I had actually lost 1 lb because of watching what I eat because of my blood sugar. All in all this appt. went great. I told her of concerns I had of late at night back pain and cramping and shortness of breathe but other than that I walked with having a great 31 33 weeks update.

Laynee completed 1st grade this week and Connor completed 3 year old Pre K. I can't believe I have a 7 year old and 3.5 year old all while expecting our 3rd. Growing up I knew I wanted kids but a number was never mentioned. Man, how time changes everything. I never dreamed I will soon have THREE kiddos.

With that being said we cleaned out Laynee and Avery's room yet again and still have a ways to go before it will be ready but it makes me feel better knowing that we are atleast half way there. We have everything we need except for a few small things, either way we are prepared for a new baby. Mentally, I'm exhausted but look forward to holding this ball of energy that has been growing for months on end. Connor wants to go get him from the "hospital where babies come from" NOW and Laynee is dying to see what he looks like. I personally can't wait to see what everyone bets on the weight for this lil' guy. I still have the bets from when Laynee was born and we skipped out on it when Connor was born.

Plans for the weekend is to clean the house alittle, rest ALOT and clean out Connor's closet and the monster of a pile of toys. Everyone have a safe Memorial Day Weekend-I'm sure we'll have pictures to share!

I spend most of my time wondering why I get so many projects going at one time. I've always done it.

1. Paint shelves-done.

2. Paint mantle-in the works.

3. Put entertainment center in and rearrange the living room-done.

4. Clean living room after everything is in place-yeah I'm working on it.

5. Clean garage.

6. Organize Connor's clothes by size and put in tubs...put tubs in storage shed...working on it.

7. Put the 4-5 loads of laundry that is currently on couch and in chair away...yeah that's never ending...but working on it!

8. Organize Avery's clothes by size...working on it.

9. Pack diaper bag.

10. Pack my bags and Adam's for hospital.

11. Clean back porch off...again.

12. Wipe down kitchen cabinets.

13. Clean hall closets out.

14. Order stuff for Connor's FOURTH birthday party.

and the list could go on and on...

Right now first in line are the ones that we already have the supplies for=NO COST, just time. Next up on the list is getting our mantle painted. As seen here this side of the room is already looking much lighter! I couldn't be more pleased with the way the shelves turned out! We also scored a entertainment center-FREE and put it up Sunday. It's a project I will take on after Avery comes (many weeks after Avery comes). I want to paint it white too! It's in great condition with only a few scratches and when you add FREE to it, it looks even better! We also have more storage space so that means that tub full of movies now has somewhere to go and Connors smaller clothes have somewhere to go too! I'm slowly cleaning the garage out and feel so much better about how everything is turning out.

It's amazing how much I want to do around the house before Avery comes but realizing quick I don't have the energy/time to do them!

Grilling out and roasting marshmellows

Saturday afternoon we invited the Adairs and Wills over to grill out, swim and roast marshmellows. Roasting marshmellows was a first for my two. Laynee loved it and Connor loved watching the marshmellow catch on fire and hearing me say blow it out. He got tickled ever time! We borrowed a lil' swimming pool and had the sprinkler going and the kids didn't stop going until time to go. They had so much fun! It's amazing how something so lil and took so lil' time getting together could be so fun! The adults laughed, talked and had a good time too. We had good food and good conversation which is a great way to end a saturday night!

A first and a last

Saturday Connor played his last T ball game of the season and got his first trophy. To say I was ready for the season to be over with is a understatement. We spent the majority of the season watching Connor run off the field or sit and play in the dirt. If you are a parent who is thinking of putting your three year old in tball next year I recommend waiting til they are FOUR! It was a long season for us but seeing Connor get that Trophy and SMILE from ear to ear was worth it all. It's all he has talked about all weekend long. I'm glad the season is over for us!

Taking a load off

Avery is a ball of energy and I'm a hairball.

Yes you read correctly, I am a mess. I laugh, I cry, I yell and still feel the same. I'm so ready for him to be here but our house is not nor is our finances. I often wonder if either of them ever will be. I've made list on top of list of "to do's" with more getting added than marked off. I've decided that all that matters is that he is healthy and we have a place for him to sleep when he gets home. He could careless if his and Laynee's room is complete and from the looks of it Laynee could too. She hasn't spoken a word about when the room will get painted and why there are white dots all over her walls (that's as far as we have gotten on the whole painting the room)?

Connor's room is done except for the floor and he hasn't said a word about it although I've noticed that he perfers Laynee's room when playing (I think its becuase her room is clean and he wants to mess it up too). Children don't notice the things us moms do that's for sure. Oh to be their age again, not a care in the world.

In the weeks ahead we have a wedding (this weekend) to be apart of, the final games of T ball to attend, the ending of the school year and the arrival of a little boy who could careless if his space is complete. I've decided I'm gonna take a load off and enjoy the moments before Baby Avery arrives and if the Mile long to do list gets done then it does, if not that's ok too. Happy Hump Day everyone, take a load off and enjoy!

April 29th, 30th and May 1st and 2nd

* April 29th I went for my "27 week" check up. I took the sugar test and "didn't pass", so I was told to come in the following week to take the 3 hour test. Cried most of the afternoon.

* April 30th: Connor's ball game, quick lunch and trip to walmart and then I was off to Wendy's Lingerie Shower/bachelorette party.
* May 1st: Alittle nervous about the 3 hour test and decided to go first thing Monday and "get it over with."

* May 2nd: 3 hour sugar test and failed. Next appt. is Friday with a dietician at St. Vincents to see what all I can and cannot do. The lab tech. didn't give me any info except the # for the Dietician and told me to exercise...Cried all afternoon and was very ill.

Its been a rough week emotional for me. Not only did all of this happen but our state was hit hard by a tornado and destroyed several local cities. Prayer is needed for all.

These shelves were # 100000000 on my to do before Avery arrives list...We finally got them painted and put back into the living room. I love how it lightens up that side of the room!!

Next up is the mantle. I can't wait...we have a busy weekend coming up with a birthday party and Easter Sunday but I plan on painting it next and Laynee's and Avery's room is next on the list too!

So what do YOU think??? I'm trying to let them get good and dry before I start loading them up with stuff!

After the game we went home took a nap and later that afternoon got ready to go eat with friends at Old Town Grille...

I hate it but I only snapped pictures of the boys and no one else. Laynee is not into taking pictures and makes a really bad sad face anytime you aim the camera torgh her...

she was there just no in on the action that the boys were! We met Wendy, Michael, Tiffney, Alex, Allysa and Aunt Becky all over there for dinner and all had a good time. The kids were good just a little rowdy!

We received the bedding last week for Avery and the brown couldn't have been more perfect when matching Laynee's bedding. I love it! Laynee loves it! (BIG plus) and she says that Avery will love it too-so we have a win win situation! While I haven't choosen the yellow paint for the walls yet I have one in mind and so the search for the wall/room decor begins. My first stop why http://www.etsy.com/ of course! How do you feel about leggin's on baby boys? I personally love seeing them on boys or girls but have played with the idea in mind for awhile about letting our own baby BOY wear them. I did a little searching on etsy and found some too cute to pass up. I have a pair of I "heart" rock but haven't decided if I will be putting them on Avery or not! Check these out for lil' boys!
